Understanding Aphasia And Related Neurogenic Language Disorders

Learn how to better understand and treat Aphasia and other neurogenic language disorders. Learn about the different types of neurogenic language disorders, the signs and symptoms of neurogenic language disorders, the possible causes of neurogenic language disorders, the anatomy and physiology of the brain, and recreational therapy treatment ideas for specific deficits with someone who has a neurogenic language disorder.

Course Objectives

  • Learner will demonstrate adequate insight of various types of neurogenic language disorders

  • Learner will demonstrate understanding of some of the causes and treatment options there are for Aphasia

  • Learner will demonstrate understanding of some interventions which are effective for treating Aphasia

Instructor Bio:

Nathan Lamaster is a nationally Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) from Tyler, Tx who has started a handful of both TR and non-TR businesses throughout his career as well as worked in a variety of TR settings as a practitioner.
